Now that I get the chance to start over from the very first month of the year, I will do this right and orderly and I promise to post a once-a-month monthly selfie face. Since I do not put on much on a daily basis, this segment may seem dull to some because I did not mention as many products as I was supposed to, but I try to switch and alternate things up. Last month, there were several changes.
Base make up is never my main focus on a daily basis. However, this month, something came in the mailbox (well, not literally) and I have been using it ever since I received it. It is the Glossier's Perfecting Skin Tint in the shade Medium. I always thought that this product will be the perfect base for me because I imagined that this is not heavy nor cakey at all and that it will be super light and sheer with little to almost no coverage, which I believe I will be perfectly fine with. Boy, was I right. This product is everything I wanted for an everyday base. One downside though; this product comes in a small 30ml bottle, which means that I have to avoid using it everyday because I need to remember how difficult it is to get my hand on Glossier products :c
Having a small collection of makeup kind of force me to think creatively on how I utilise my makeup products. One instance is how I use my Innisfree's Eco Flower Tint Balm in Camelia on my cheeks as a blush, instead of using it for my lips. This creamy chapstick is very pigmented for its kind, and when blended using my fingers, it comes out very subtle and not too overdone on my cheeks.
Starting from the eyebrows, I fill it in with the usual Faceshop's Brow Definer and to lock it all, I use the brand new Glossier's Boy Brow in Brown. While I do like the idea of having the formula of a pomade for eyebrows to achieve a soft look, I still prefer the L'Oreal's Brow Plumper in terms of long-lasting formula. On my lashes, I am still rocking L'Oreal's Butterfly False Lash Mascara because it gives some serious length, which I think makes up for its lack of volume substance.
The one part where I most definitely switch up the most. Around December last year, I purchased Nars lipstick in Dolce Vita, which to many, this colour really is the ultimate shade of 'my lips but better.' And I certainly agree. The pigmentation -though very, very sheer- is actually perfect for everyday use. It may not scream 'hey, here, look at my enormous lips,' but it does define and enhance the colour of my lips which often just appears dead and pale.
What makeup do you use in January?
