Lips are kind of an underrated part of my face to take care of. Sure, i put on lipbalm, but only once a day, really. Most of the time when my lips are dry, i simply just lick it because i'm that lazy to grab a lip balm to moisturize the lips. Until there's this one time when my lips are so dry, the patches starting to bleed and the outer part of my lips became irritated -definitely not something i want to happen again. So, i begin to start a simple but habitual routine for my lips.
Putting on lipbalm is a must, i'm still lazy, i don't put it on whenever my lips are dry, but i do smack on those balm at least twice a day, along with my skincare routine, every morning and at night. Nivea and Vaseline has been everyone's favorite, and honestly mine too. But ever since i moved to Australia, i was introduced to the amazing Lucas PawPaw Ointment. This ointment claims to heal boils, burns, chafing, cuts, cracked skin, gravel rash, splinters, open wounds, insect bites and nappy rash. That claims A LOT but it does what it claims to be! i have once got a severe sunburn when i went to Cottesloe last summer, and i applied this ointment on my back, and the sunburn got better only by a couple of days! This is one magical product, i must say. Definitely prevent my lips from chapping, since the consistency is super thick. I bring this with me always!
Tinted lipbalm is my everyday option for going out if i don't feel like putting on lipstick. My favorite (which i lost somewhere back home in Jakarta) was Too Cool For School's Dinoplatz Lip Balm in Rabbit Food, which is an orange tinted lip balm (which explains the name, since carrot is orange, duh). The packaging is A++++ it's so cute and it really fits my personality. I am so bummed that i lost it that i cannot share it here! I have found the alternative though, which is Korres Lip Butter in Wild Rose. Super hydrating, i must say! And the color is pretty intense for a tinted lipbalm, since most of them are pretty sheer. I am really loving this product for everyday wear, but i still miss my Dinoplatz lip balm :(
Another addition for my lip treatment is the lip scrub. The one i have is from Lush and it's the Popcorn flavour. It smells exactly like popcorn i cant get enough of this! Too bad i cant consume this, lol. This product makes it easier for me to exfoliate my lips. There are some tips and tutorial on how to make your own lip scrub, but i gotta be frank, i'm too lazy for that, so this product helps me by a lot. I use this product once to twice a week by dabbing this on my lips and just scrub it on my lips, then i wiped it off with a wet tissue. It removes all the drier parts of my lips.
